Burbank Community Centre

Burbank Community Centre continues to act as a base for local residents to access support, gather information and connect to social and educational activities as well as a base for other organisations to do outreach from.

It is part of the free food distribution network and provides a free community meal each week for anyone who might be hungry or who simply wants to be part of their community, sharing food, support and some laughs as well.

Food support extends beyond the immediate community to the whole town through The Bread and Butter Thing. This is a subsidised food programme aimed at reducing waste and ensuring those on a low income can have access to good quality food. Members come from all over Hartlepool to collect food from the Centre and are simultaneously able to get free drinks and access to other relevant information.

Burbank also acts as a Support and Report Centre for the residents of Burn Valley Ward, working in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioners Office, local Councillors and Community Police.

Although many different groups and activities happen in the centre, which also now has an IT and training suite, there is still space for more. So, if you are an organisation looking for space in the area or a local resident with an idea then please get in touch. If you might also consider volunteering at the Centre then we’d also love to hear from you.
