The last month has seen lots of positive change and exciting developments as well as some amazing news on the funding front

We have received several funding awards including through Key Fund relating to the cost of living crisis. This means more help for the people of Hartlepool, struggling to care for themselves and their families. Support from Groundwork Trust resulted in an Energy Assessment for our Bovis House and the potential to make changes to reduce our emissions as well as save money for ourselves and our tenants. We also had visits from Commissioners, finding out more about what we do and the challenges facing local people.

We also have new team members making a big difference in our Salaam and Burbank Centres. Welcome to Nancy and Johnny! And several new volunteers helping with our Community Meals, Low Cost Supermarket and Community Pantries.

In addition to our Free Monday Lunch at Burbank the Salaam Centre now has a very busy Brunch (unlimited hot drinks and toast) on a Wednesday and Thursday with plans, once the kitchen is refreshed, for more Community Meals there too.

International Women’s Day was marked by a wonderful celebration by women of all ages, cultures and backgrounds and we are also working with a group of local young people keen to start some additional activities in the Victoria Ward area of Hartlepool.

We continue to benefit from the amazing support of commissioners, donors and partners to ensure all our communities are able to access the crisis and on-going support they need. If you have anything you’d like to be doing to help your community please get in touch and we’ll do everything we can to help you make it happen!
